대만, 한국특허청과 특허우선권 증명문서의 전자교환업무 정식 가동

   대만과 한국은 2015년 6월 15일에 대만과 한국 간의 특허우선권 증명문서의 전자교환 업무 （Priority Document Exchange, 이하 ‘PDX’로 약칭한다） 에 대해 협력에 관한 양해각서를 체결하고 2016년 1월 1일부터 정식 가동에 들어갔다. 금번 PDX업무는 새로운 특허·실용신안에 적용되며 대만지혜국(臺灣智慧局)과 한국 특허청 간에 전자교환시스템을 통해 우선권문서를 교환하여 신청인은 종이로 된 증명문건을 제출할 필요가 없어 제출에 필요한 비용과 시간이 절감되며 국가 간에 원활한 신청절차를 구현함으로써 심사업무의 감소화와 문서의 저장공간을 축소할 수 있다는 장점이 있다.

   Taiwan and Korea singed on June 15, 2015 a Memoranda of Understanding (MOU) on the Priority Document Exchange (PDX) program, which commences on January 1, 2016.
The PDX program is applicable to invention or utility model patent applications. Under the PDX problem, the Taiwan Intellectual Property Office (TIPO) and the Korean Intellectual Property Office (KIPO) can obtain the priority document through the electronic transmission system and therefore the applicant no longer needs to submit a certified copy of the priority document, which can save time and money for postal delivery, streamline respective application procedures, accelerate examination work at both offices and reduce storage space for printed documents.
